Where We've Gone:
Message on One Badger
We have three missions: education, research, and outreach to the state. What we do with those three missions is not just important to our students. It’s not just important to the state of Wisconsin. But, I deeply believe that we and other flagships – the work that we do – is important to our country, its long-term success, and its possibilities for economic growth and for addressing inequalities. ~ Rebecca Blank
OneBadger represents a commitment to the ideal we hold for UW Madison as the intellectual home for students of diverse origins, educational needs and learning goals.
The University of Wisconsin Madison is the intellectual home for a diverse set of students at all stages in their lifetime of learning. As a pre-eminent academic institution, and a public land grant university serving the needs of Wisconsinites and learners from around the globe, there is a moral imperative for the University to anticipate the evolving needs of students and adapt to a fast-changing educational landscape.
To provide an intellectual home for learners to meet their goals and improve themselves through education, while excelling as a Very High Research institution, we need to both constantly adapt while challenging ourselves to think differently and tackle the challenges of the future by moving beyond the comforts of our past. This vision is a call to action to do just that.
One Badger Strategic Goals
In fulfillment of the OneBadger vision, UW Madison will challenge itself to drive meaningful change that will sustain its position as a premier academic institution, providing an intellectual home to the Wisconsin community and top minds globally. The following five strategic goals will support this mission:
Student Cloud Vision & Goals
A living roadmap that is refreshed annually based on UW Madison needs and environment
Where we are & Where we are going:
Continuum of Disruption
The need to grow & evolve will never cease... our goals are more about maintaining the right path as opposed to reaching a destination
